Shruti has studied at Chhandam in the Bay Area as well as Mumbai, and has experienced the joy of kathak and the import of Guruji's teachings first hand. Besides dancing, she loves photography and traveling, along with her husband Kashyap. She is mother of an adorable two-year old boy.
Shruti is currently a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy, and collaborating on research with the International Energy Studies group at Lawrence Berkeley Lab. Here she continues her research on renewable energy policy with a specific focus on rural energy access. Prior to this, she was a Fellow at Observer Research Foundation (ORF) Mumbai, a leading independent public-policy think tank in India. Her report published by ORF on the role of solar solutions for rural electrification was much acclaimed by the industry, and presented to then Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh. Previously, Shruti led Transport and Energy-Efficient Lighting programs for the Clinton Climate Initiative in India. In another avatar, she has worked in a variety of business roles in leading internet and mobile technology companies (in US and India), doing marketing, key account management and business development. She holds a B.Tech, M.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay.
