Chhandam School of Kathak is one of the premiere academies and largest classical Indian dance institutions in North America offering the finest training in cultural education and kathak dance tradition.  Chhandam offers training in dance technique, rhythmical math, improvisation and classical Indian music from dedicated and accomplished instructors who have trained directly under Pandit Chitresh Das.

Class FAQs

  • When do classes start?

    Registration is open and ongoing. Spring Session runs weekly January 17 through June 12, 2017 with the following breaks: February 21-27, April 4-10, May 23-29.

  • Are trial classes available for new students?

You can register for classes at any time throughout the year and your cost will be pro-rated.

  • What other student enrichment programs do you offer?

    Our Children's Summer Camps are a great way to enrich your child's Kathak learning. In addition to the dance, your child will have class in singing and taal. The summer camp is available to new and current students at Chhandam. For our current Teen/Adult students, we offer a summer retreat for a deeply immersive experience in Kathak. We also offer workshops and intensives throughout the year with visiting faculty and artists from around the world.
