The Chhandam School provides students with the opportunity to study Hindustani classical music with today’s leading artists and educators.  Our guest music education faculty, Sarah Morelli, Vaibhav Mankad and Satyaprakash Mishra make regular visits to our classes and at intensives throughout the year for music training.  In addition, our guest faculty Vaibhav Mankad and Satyaprakash Mishra offer private online classes in vocal music and tabla, respectively. 

Vocal Classes

Through Chhandam’s distant learning program in music, students have the opportunity to study one-on-one with one of today’s leading vocalists of the Agra gharana. Through weekly or semi-weekly classes students receive training in vocal technique, fundamentals and repertoire. Advanced students can choose to focus on improving performance skills and expanding their repertoire. When appropriate, students have the option of studying in a private or semi-private class setting.

Fees
Private
$50 per class (offered on a weekly and semi-weekly basis as per student preference).

Semi-Private
$80 per class (students must be of relatively commensurate age, ability and experience).

Tabla Classes

Chhandam’s distant learning program in music offers students with the opportunity to study tabla with one of Benares Gharana’s rising stars. Through weekly or semi-weekly classes, students receive individualized training in tabla technique, fundamentals and repertoire. Beginning, intermediate and advanced students alike receive guidance on performance and accompaniment. Students can opt to do classes in a private or semi-private setting.

$80 per class (students must be of relatively commensurate age, ability and experience).
